Senior Consultant - CDM & Construction Safety (London and South East)

You can experience a world of opportunity and the chance to shape a career as unique as you. We are seeking a Senior Consultant to support the delivery of Construction Design and Management (CDM) and wider construction safety services across a diverse portfolio of projects. This role is suited to an experienced CDM professional who is confident operating within design and delivery teams, providing clear, pragmatic advice and supporting clients in meeting their statutory responsibilities. You will play a key role in embedding effective risk management throughout the project lifecycle, particularly across RIBA Stages 2–5. In a typical week, you may be involved in:Support delivery of CDM Principal Designer duties in line with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015Contribute to design risk management processes, including hazard identification, risk reduction and coordination of design risk informationAttend and contribute to design team meetings, risk workshops and project reviewsReview drawings, specifications and design information to identify and challenge health and safety risksAssist in the preparation and maintenance of key CDM documentation, including:Pre-Construction Information (PCI)Design Risk Registers / Hazard LogsHealth and Safety Files (HSF)Provide clear and practical advice to clients and project teams on CDM compliance and dutiesSupport Building Safety Act Principal Designer duties where requiredManage your own project tasks and deliverables to agreed time, cost and quality expectationsCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safety considerations are integrated into design and deliveryLeadership & ResponsibilityYou will be responsible for:Delivery of allocated project tasks and outputsMaintaining quality and consistency of CDM documentationSupporting effective communication of risks to project stakeholdersBuilding trusted working relationships with internal teams and clientsContributing to safe and compliant project outcomesWe are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:Proven experience working within a CDM / construction safety roleStrong working knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015Practical experience contributing to Principal Designer dutiesUnderstanding of design processes and RIBA stages, particularly Stages 3–5Ability to review and interpret technical design information (drawings, specs, models)Experience supporting risk management through hazard identification and mitigationGood communication skills with confidence to engage in meetings with designers and contractorsAbility to manage workload across multiple projectsQualifications & Professional MembershipsDegree or equivalent in construction, engineering, health & safety or related field(or HNC/HND with relevant experience)NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent) preferredWorking towards or holding membership of IOSH, APS or IIRSMProgressionThis role provides a pathway towards Principal Consultant level, with opportunities to take on increased responsibility for:Leading CDM / PD roles on projectsClient engagement and relationship managementMentoring junior team membersImagine a better future for you and a better future for us all. Join our close-knit community of talented individuals who share your passion for making a positive impact.
