About the role:
We are seeking a pro-active SEND Teaching Assistants to support Post 16 learners within a specialist college setting in the West Lancashire area. The roles involve supporting across a range of foundation subjects.
The role involves small group work and support in the wider classroom setting for students with varying additional needs, including Autism, ADHD and speech and language needs. You will be required to contribute to maintaining student progress records.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping to promote an inclusive and positive learning environment for all. The role is also open to those with transferable skills and experience of supporting young people in a similar setting, such as residential children’s homes or support workers. Part and full-time roles are available.
Key responsibilities:
* Supporting students with a range of additional needs
* Contribute to creating a positive classroom environment
* Contribute to accurate progress records
* Promote positive behaviour
* Work closely with teachers and other education/health care professionals
* Assist with general college duties as required
* Adhere to college policies and procedures, including safeguarding
Essential requirements:
* At least 5 GCSE (grade C/4 or above), including Maths and English
* Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification or experience working with young people or those with SEND
* Confident working with +16 learners
* Flexible and adaptable
* Reliable and punctual with a professional attitude
* Enhanced DBS or willing to obtain one
