Lead Mechanical Engineer

POSITION SUMMARYThis posting is for an experienced Lead Engineer that will lead the design and release new products within High Density Liquid Cooling. This Lead Engineer will work in a cross-functional development group at a global level, managing a variety of tasks and lead team activities required in this dynamic environment that includes solving complex problems along the way.A professional individual in product development and engineering who executes advanced tasks, processes, techniques and procedures. This position occupies a hybrid role that bridges high-level technical expertise with team management and project oversight.RESPONSIBILITIES Lead by example and direct other engineers in the conduct of product development from an engineering capacity for CDU developmentCheck and approve drawings and bill of materials Participate in identification of cost reduction opportunities in the design and development and identifying alternative component selection.Technical Leadership: Guide the team’s (matrix organisation) technical direction, make or influence architectural decisions, and ensure adherence to engineering standards and best practices.Project Oversight: Manage timelines and deliverables from concept through to delivery. Serve as the main point of contact for stakeholders and cross-functional teams (e.g., electrical, software, and manufacturing) at a global level.Quality & Compliance: Develop and enforce engineering standards and quality procedures (e.g., ISO, ASME, or GD&T). Good understanding of root cause analysis of failures and implementing corrective actions.Procurement & Vendor Support: Support early sourcing activities by evaluating vendor proposals and ensuring third-party components meet technical specificationsDrive initiatives with Speed, Precision and Discipline.QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Job Qualifications: Minimum 5-10 years of experience in a leading role in product development.Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment independently and as a member of a dynamic team; offer and receive constructive criticism Ability to mentor and guide less experienced team members as well as take direction and guidance from managers and directors. Demonstrated history of delivering quality products to market with understanding and respect for phases of the product development process Excellent project management skills and communication skills, both written and verbal Proficient in 3D CAD software, preferred CREO 4.0 and greater Knowledge UL Standards, ASHRAE for HVAC systems, preferably Data Centres.Experience in a regulated industryA good understanding of R&D development and workflowAble to systematically solve issues by troubleshooting through experienceIdentifies possible solutions to a variety of technical problems and takes actions to resolveSoft Skills: Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities to bridge the gap between technical teams and non-technical management                    Preferred Qualifications: Preferred 2-4 years of experience in an HVAC related industry.Experience with PLM systems (BOM management and change order release)Experience working closely with associates in manufacturing engineering and production rolesEDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONSB Eng Degree or higher in Engineering from an accredited college or universityA chartered engineer of a recognised institution or working towards becoming chartered.#LI-JT1Work Authorization No calls or agencies please.
