TherolesitswithintheBuildingSafetyTeamandworksinclosecollaborationwithinternalenforcementofficerstosupportthedeliveryofthePrivateSectorBuildingSafetyProgramme.TheprogrammeisdesignedtoidentifyhighandmediumriseprivateresidentialbuildingsinSouthwarkwhichmayhaveunsafecladdingorotherfiresafetydefects.WorkinginpartnershipwiththeMinistryofHousing,CommunitiesandLocalGovernment(MHCLG),theBuildingSafetyProgrammesupportsbuildingownersintakingimmediatestepstosafeguardresidentsandinmakinginformeddecisionsregardinginterimmeasuresandremedialworks. Thepostholderisresponsibleforcollectingandreviewingexternalwallsystems(EWS)data,specificallyfocussingonthosewithcombustiblecladding.Theaimistoensurethatrisksofunsafecladdingandanyotheridentifiedfiresafetydeficienciesareevaluatedandaddressedappropriately. KeyResponsibilities:InterimBuildingSafetyManager UndertakeinitialdesktopreviewofprivatelyownedhighandmediumriseresidentialbuildingswithintheBorough. Developarisk-basedinspectionprogrammeofmediumandhigh-riseresidentialbuildings,collectdataonexternalwallsystems(EWS)andcontactdetailsofthebuildingproprietors. ReviewEWSdata,FRAEWreports,andotherassociateddocuments,categorisebuildingsbasedonrisklevelsandreferfurtheractiononbuildingswithsuspectedunsafecladding,includinganyotheridentifiedfiresafetydeficiencies,totheinternalenforcementteamspecifyingtheirriskpriorityrating. Engagewithproprietorsofbuildingswithsuspectedunsafecladdingtoobtainadditionalinformationoncladdingmaterials,Interimfiresafetymeasures,remediationfundingandremediationworkstimelines. ReviewBuildingSafetyFundandCladdingSafetySchemedataonremediationfundingandidentifyanymissingbuildings. DevelopeffectiveworkingrelationshipswiththelocalFireandRescueService,MHCLGandotherstakeholderstoobtainandsharedataonbuildingswithunsafecladding. Attendtoenquiriesfrombuildingproprietors,localcouncillorsandotherstakeholdersinatimelyandprofessionalmanner. Workcollaborativelywiththeinternalenforcementteamtosupportinvestigations,inspections,andenforcementactionswherenecessary. Contributetocontinuousimprovementinitiatives,includingteamprocesses,datamaintenance,KPIreporting,teammeetingsandotheroperationalactivities. AttendtoanyotherdutiesasrequiredbytheSeniorManagement,inlinewiththeobjectivesoftheBuildingSafetyProgramme. Workingpattern:InterimBuildingSafetyManager Theworkpatterninvolvesspendingthreedaysouton-siteundertakingbuildinginspectionsandtwodaysintheofficeforreportingandadministrativetasks. Qualifications/experienceInterimBuildingSafetyManager Abachelor'sdegreeorequivalentcertificateinBuildingSurveyingorarelatedfieldisrequired. 5yearsexperienceinBuildingSafety/FireSafety/BuildingSurveying ExperienceofundertakingHHSRSSurveys. KnowledgeofkeylegislationandguidanceincludingtheBuildingRegulations2010,HousingAct2004,BuildingSafetyAct2022,theRegulatoryReform(FireSafety)Order2005,FireSafetyAct2021,andtheFireSafety(England)Regulations2022. Familiaritywithfiresafetydesignprinciplesforhigh-riseresidentialbuildingsandexternalwallsystems. Excellentwrittenandoralcommunicationskills. GoodITskills.
