Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer - Offshore Wind (Remote) Sector: Renewable Energy / Offshore Wind Location: UK based, remote working with occasional travel to a Central Scotland office Start Date: ASAP Contract Type: 6-Month Initial Contract (Inside IR35, via Umbrella) with potential for extension Day Rate: £800 per day Hours: Monday-Friday, 37 hours per week Right to Work: Full UK working rights required About the Role We're working with a major player in the UK renewables sector to find a Senior Electrical Engineer to join a large-scale offshore wind programme. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to front-end electrical design on a high-profile transmission and generation project, working within a collaborative engineering team on complex substation and balance-of-plant design. Key Responsibilities Deliver front-end electrical engineering design work Develop electrical contract documentation, including preparation and management of substation and electrical balance of plant contracts and Works Information Write, review and update technical specifications for substation and electrical balance of plant equipment Review external contractors' design documentation to ensure client requirements are met Attend Factory Acceptance and Site Acceptance Tests of major substation components to confirm adequate testing has been achieved Essential Experience Offshore wind electrical design experience Substation layout design, primary equipment specification and testing experience, up to 400kV Strong technical knowledge of renewable electricity generation or transmission Good working knowledge of engineering legislation and industry good practice relevant to substation design, primary plant and protection Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to understand the implications of engineering decisions What's on Offer Competitive day rate on a 6-month initial contract with strong extension potential Remote-first working with occasional travel to a Central Scotland office Exposure to a major UK offshore wind programme at the forefront of the renewables sectorGuidant, Carbon60, Lorien & SRG - The Impellam Group Portfolio are acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy
