Where you’ll be working?
BGEN is one of the UK's largest multidisciplinary design and build contractors with over 100 years of industry experience. We support clients in the Water, Power & Energy, Pharmaceutical, Nuclear and Food and Beverage industries to deliver next generation, value-added engineering solutions.
What you'll be doing?
This role is responsible for the preparation, review, and delivery of accurate, competitive, and commercially sound estimates to support the successful acquisition of profitable contracts. Responsibilities include evaluating tender enquiries, producing detailed cost estimates, obtaining supplier and subcontractor quotations, and completing take-offs in line with quality assurance procedures. The role works closely with internal departments, clients, and project teams, attending site visits, tender reviews, and project handovers. It also provides guidance to Estimating Engineers, ensuring tender submissions are complete and timely. Strong commercial awareness, contractual knowledge, organisational skills, and stakeholder management are essential.
You will bring:
Good knowledge of current relevant Estimating and Commercial practice
Good knowledge of engineering practices
Good knowledge of project management practices
Good knowledge of HSE systems and compliance
Good knowledge of QA systems and compliance
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation and with clients
High level of computer literacy
People management skills and knowledge of performance management processes for leadership, coaching and development of staff
