Senior Site Manager — Major Industrial Refurbishment & Mezzanine Installation Location: Exeter Contract: Freelance Duration: 22 weeks Project Value: £7m Start Date: June 8th Role Overview We are recruiting an experience site‑based lead (No1 Site Manager) to support delivery of a major industrial warehouse refurbishment and mezzanine installation in Exeter. This is a high‑profile, fast‑paced scheme that demands a confident, decisive manager who can lead on site, think independently, and drive performance across safety, quality and programme. Key Responsibilities * Lead day‑to‑day site operations for internal refurbishment and mezzanine installation. * Control subcontractor performance with firm, fair supervision to maximise productivity and quality. * Champion health & safety, ensuring RAMS, permits and site documentation are current and enforced. * Manage reporting and programme updates, including daily briefs, weekly reports and progress tracking. * Coordinate logistics and sequencing to maintain flow and meet milestone dates. * Liaise with Project Manager, client and delivery partners to resolve issues and maintain momentum. Essential Requirements * Managers CSCS card * SMSTS * 3‑day First Aid * Strong IT literacy — reporting, email, document control, digital H&S systems * Proven experience delivering construction projects of scale * Demonstrable leadership — able to command teams with clarity and professionalism * Flexible working — 12 days on / 2 days off rota Candidate Profile We want a confident, organised and proactive site leader who: * Maintains high standards under pressure * Communicates clearly and builds strong working relationships * Thinks on their feet and makes decisive, practical on‑site decisions * Takes pride in delivering safe, high‑quality outcomes Opportunity This is an excellent local opportunity with a respected tier 1 main contractor to play a pivotal role on a major industrial scheme.
