Are you an experienced Motor Trade Underwriter looking for the opportunity to take ownership of a varied and high-profile portfolio?

We’re working with a leading insurer looking to appoint a Senior Motor Trade Underwriter to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong technical knowledge of the Motor Trade market and experience working closely with both national and independent brokers.

The Role

As a Senior Motor Trade Underwriter, you'll be responsible for underwriting and managing a diverse portfolio of Motor Trade business, building strong relationships with brokers and supporting the continued growth of the account.

You’ll have the confidence to make sound underwriting decisions, negotiate effectively and identify opportunities to develop profitable business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Underwrite new and existing Motor Trade risks within agreed underwriting authority.
• Manage relationships with both national and independent broker partners.
• Develop and grow profitable broker relationships.
• Provide strong technical underwriting expertise across the Motor Trade sector.
• Negotiate terms, premiums and cover to achieve profitable outcomes.
• Support junior members of the team and contribute to wider underwriting strategy.
• Identify new business opportunities and help drive portfolio growth.

About You

• Strong Motor Trade underwriting experience.
• Excellent technical knowledge of the Motor Trade insurance market.
• Experience working with a range of national and independent brokers.
• Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.
• The ability to make confident underwriting decisions.
• A commercial mindset with a focus on profitable growth.
