Permanent Commercial Gas Engineer – Walsall / West Midlands £830 per week + overtime | Permanent A permanent opportunity for an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer looking for local work, regular Monday-to-Friday hours and a good work/life balance. The role involves servicing, maintenance, fault finding and repair of commercial heating systems across Walsall and the wider West Midlands. Work is primarily within schools, council properties and other commercial premises. The position offers stable, local employment with no weekend working, no call-out rota and no nationwide travel. The Role * Service and maintain commercial boilers, heating systems and plant * Diagnose faults and carry out repairs * Work on commercial gas systems and associated pipework * Undertake plumbing and mechanical work * Complete service, maintenance and compliance records * Attend commercial premises throughout Walsall and the West Midlands * Work safely and professionally while representing the company on client sites An Enhanced DBS will be arranged and paid for by the company due to the work carried out in schools. What You Need * Commercial Gas qualification, COCN1 or equivalent * Previous commercial gas engineering experience * Strong fault-finding and mechanical skills * Good knowledge of commercial heating systems * Competent with gas pipework, plumbing and pipe fitting * Full UK driving licence Useful Qualifications and Experience The following would be advantageous but are not essential: * CODC1 / CCCN1 – commercial catering * 18th Edition electrical * Welding or pipe welding * Legionella awareness experience Package * £830 per week based on 40 hours * Overtime after 4:30pm paid at 1.5 times * Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm * No weekends or call-outs * Company van, available to take home * 20 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays * Medicash healthcare * Uniform and PPE provided * Enhanced DBS arranged and paid for * Opportunity to progress to Senior Engineer This is suited to an engineer who enjoys commercial gas work and wants a long-term position without the travelling, weekend work and call-out commitments often associated with the trade
