The Role

Working with a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses and SME clients, you'll take ownership of accounts preparation and client relationships while supporting managers and partners across a varied range of assignments.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation and review of monthly and quarterly management accounts
  • Preparing statutory accounts for a broad portfolio of clients
  • Preparation and review of VAT returns
  • Reviewing bookkeeping records and assisting with complex queries
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assisting clients with accounting software and financial reporting
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting exercises
  • Producing meaningful financial analysis and management information
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients and building strong relationships
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies
  • Working closely with managers and partners on client assignments and projects

About You

  • Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
  • Experience preparing management and statutory accounts
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge
  • ACCA/ICAS part-qualified, qualified by experience (QBE), or nearing qualification
  • Good understanding of VAT and financial reporting requirements
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Experience using cloud-based accounting software and Excel
