Group Accounting Manager

We’re looking for a technically strong Group Accounting Manager to take ownership of the accuracy, integrity and technical quality of our Group financial accounting and reporting.Working across an international, multi-entity business, you’ll lead the Group consolidation and statutory reporting processes, maintain accounting policies, coordinate the external audit and help ensure consistent reporting standards across APAC, EMEA and AMER.This is a hands-on technical accounting position. It is ideally suited to someone who enjoys solving complex accounting issues, improving reporting quality and setting clear standards across regional Finance teams. It is not an FP&A, commercial finance or business-partnering role.What you’ll be responsible forOwning the monthly, quarterly and year-end Group consolidation processReviewing consolidated results, Group accounting entries, intercompany eliminations and foreign currency accountingLeading the preparation of Group statutory financial statementsSetting Group reporting standards, formats, timetables and submission deadlinesReviewing regional submissions and challenging unusual or insufficiently supported accounting treatmentsProviding technical guidance on complex matters under UK GAAP and FRS 102Maintaining Group accounting policies and ensuring their consistent applicationResearching and documenting significant accounting judgementsLeading the day-to-day management of the external audit and coordinating regional deliverablesSupporting the accounting assessment of acquisitions, disposals, restructurings and other significant transactionsManaging, coaching and developing the Group Financial AccountantBuilding effective relationships with Regional Financial Controllers, external auditors and the wider Finance leadership teamWhat we’re looking forACA, ACCA or an equivalent accountancy qualificationIdeally five or more years of relevant post-qualification experienceStrong working knowledge of UK GAAP and FRS 102Significant Group consolidation experience within an international, multi-entity organisationExperience preparing or reviewing Group statutory financial statementsStrong experience managing external audits, deliverables and timetablesThe ability to research complex accounting issues and document technical judgements clearlyA strong understanding of intercompany accounting, foreign currency and balance-sheet accountingHands-on ERP experience, with NetSuite particularly advantageousExcellent organisation and attention to detailA confident communication style, with the ability to provide direction and constructively challenge senior Finance colleaguesExperience managing, supervising or reviewing the work of other accountantsIt would be an advantage if you also haveKnowledge of US GAAP, particularly in a business with significant US operationsBig Four or other major accounting firm experienceExperience of acquisitions, disposals, purchase price allocations or other complex corporate transactionsExperience working in a multinational, multi-currency GroupWhy this role?This is an opportunity to take ownership of critical Group accounting processes and shape the quality and consistency of financial reporting across an international organisation.
