About the Role We are currently seeking dedicated and passionate Social Workers to join a well-established Family Support & Safeguarding service across Cambridgeshire. You will play a key role in supporting vulnerable children and their families, ensuring their safety and wellbeing while enabling positive, long-term change. Location: Cambridgeshire (Multiple Locations Available) Huntingdon Wisbech Cambridge City East Cambridgeshire - Ely Working Arrangements This role offers a flexible hybrid working model, combining office-based work, home working, and visits within the community. Key Responsibilities Manage a varied caseload of children and families, ensuring timely, effective interventions that promote stability and positive outcomes. Undertake Child and Family Assessments, Section 47 enquiries, and other statutory duties in line with legislation and local safeguarding procedures. Develop clear, outcome-focused care and support plans, regularly reviewing progress and adapting interventions to meet changing needs. Build strong, professional relationships and carry out meaningful direct work with children, young people, and families to achieve sustainable change. Identify and assess risks, taking proactive steps to safeguard children, including initiating and managing child protection plans where necessary. Work closely with key partners including schools, health professionals, police, and other agencies to deliver coordinated support. Prepare high-quality reports and care plans for court proceedings and represent the local authority where required. Attend and contribute to child protection conferences, core group meetings, strategy discussions, and reviews. Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in line with statutory requirements and organisational policies. Participate in regular supervision, reflective practice, and training to continuously develop your skills and knowledge.
