Overview:

A leading industrial and commercial build main contractor is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their growing pre-construction team based in Northampton.

With a strong pipeline of large-scale industrial, commercial, logistics, and mixed-use developments across the UK, this is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor offering long-term progression, flexible working, and involvement in high-profile projects.

The Role:

As Estimator, you will play a key role in the preparation of competitive tenders and cost plans across a range of major construction projects. You will work closely with pre-construction, commercial, and operational teams to secure profitable new business opportunities.

The role offers hybrid / work-from-home flexibility alongside office and project involvement when required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for industrial and commercial construction projects
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
• Producing detailed take-offs and pricing schedules
• Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Identifying project risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions
• Attending tender meetings and client presentations
• Supporting bid submissions and pre-construction activities
• Liaising with operational, commercial, and design teams throughout the tender process
• Assisting with handover of successful projects to delivery teams

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an Estimator within a main contractor environment
• Experience pricing industrial, commercial, logistics, or large-scale build projects

• Strong understanding of construction methods and sequencing
• Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines
• Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office
• Full UK driving licence
