Product Design Engineer

A growing technology company is looking for a freelance design engineer to support the development and production scaling of innovative consumer products. This is a North West UK-based, part-time contract, Outside IR35 with a competitive hourly rate. The successful applicant will be working with a small multidisciplinary team across concept development, prototyping, supplier coordination, and manufacturing readiness. Key Responsibilities Develop and refine product and packaging concepts for manufacture Produce CAD models, technical drawings, and prototype specifications Support testing and production integration activities Coordinate suppliers and partners Assist with tooling, assembly methods, and production process improvements Help transition products from prototype through manufacture to scaled production Experience Required Background in product design, mechanical engineering, or packaging development Experience working with manufacturers and production environments Strong Solidworks experience Understanding of DFM and manufacturing processes Practical hands-on prototyping and problem-solving abilityFor further information please reach out to Max Martin at Tank Recruitment
