About the role
A high-growth, technology-led business is looking for an experienced Head of SEO to own and evolve one of its most important customer acquisition channels.
Following a period of strong growth and continued investment, the business is building a more specialist marketing function and is looking for a hands‑on senior level SEO professional who can combine strategic thinking with practical delivery.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys operating at both a strategic and executional level, helping shape the future direction of SEO whilst remaining close enough to delivery to make a tangible impact.
The Opportunity
You’ll take ownership of SEO across multiple brands, working closely with content, development, paid media and senior stakeholders to drive sustainable organic growth.
This is not a role for someone who wants to spend all day in meetings. The successful candidate will be expected to lead from the front, identify opportunities, solve problems and execute against a clear growth plan.
Initially, the role is likely to be balanced across strategy and execution, making it ideal for someone who still enjoys being involved in delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute SEO strategies across multiple websites and brands
- Drive organic growth through technical, content and authority-building initiatives
- Conduct audits and identify opportunities for improvement
- Work closely with development teams to prioritise technical SEO projects
- Collaborate with content, PR and wider marketing teams
- Monitor performance and provide clear recommendations to senior stakeholders
- Manage budgets, planning and resource allocation
- Mentor and develop junior team members
- Stay ahead of industry developments, algorithm updates and emerging AI-driven search trends
About You
- Significant SEO experience, ideally gained over 10+ years
- Strong understanding of technical, on‑page and content SEO
- Experience operating across multiple websites or brands
- Commercially minded with a strong analytical approach
- Comfortable balancing strategy with hands‑on delivery
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience managing or mentoring team members
- Familiarity with SEO tools and platforms
We're open to candidates from agency, ecommerce, marketplace, SaaS or other digitally‑led environments, provided you remain close enough to execution to be genuinely hands‑on.
Why Apply?
- Opportunity to shape a key growth channel
- High visibility and influence within the business
- Significant investment in marketing and digital growth
- Collaborative and entrepreneurial environment
- Clear opportunity to build and develop the function over time
