Are you an experienced payroll professional looking for your next opportunity?
We are looking for a hands-on Payroll Manager to provide interim support to an established organisation, taking responsibility for the smooth and accurate delivery of its monthly payroll.
This is an immediate short-term opportunity, initially for up to four months, with the potential for the assignment to be extended. You will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of payroll for more than 500 employees, including a range of different employee groups with varying pay terms and conditions.
While the job title is Payroll Manager, this role will focus specifically on the day-to-day running and delivery of payroll rather than wider people management responsibilities.
The role
You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end monthly payroll process, ensuring payments are accurate, compliant and delivered on time.
Key responsibilities will include:
Managing an effective and efficient payroll service.
Responding professionally and confidentially to a wide range of payroll queries.
Ensuring monthly payroll runs are completed accurately and on time, with robust checking processes in place.
Undertaking detailed payroll calculations.
Completing statutory returns to HMRC.
Processing statutory payments, including maternity, paternity and sick pay.
Administering salary sacrifice schemes and employee loan arrangements.
Processing allowances, overtime and other payments in line with relevant terms and conditions.
Processing travel and subsistence claims.
Managing third-party payments and deductions.
Keeping up to date with changes to payroll legislation and implementing any required changes.
Supporting the organisation to maintain high levels of payroll accuracy and customer service.About you
We are looking for an experienced payroll professional who is comfortable taking ownership of a busy and complex monthly payroll.
You will ideally have:
Previous experience running end-to-end payroll for a medium to large organisation.
Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, statutory payments and HMRC requirements.
Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to checking and processing payroll.
The ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
Strong problem-solving skills and the confidence to manage payroll queries independently.
Experience using iTrent payroll software would be highly desirable, although experienced payroll professionals who can quickly pick up new systems will also be considered.Contract Details:
