About the role

My client a leading public sector organisation based in Newtownards are currently seeking a Full-Time Direct Payments Monitoring Officer to join their existing team.

Hours: The hours of work will be 37.5 hours per week, 9.00am
- 5.00pm Monday to Thursday & 8.30am
- 4.30pm on Friday.

Pay: £11.67 per hour KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES The post holder will play a key role in managing and improving Direct Payment noncompliance.

Support clients and colleagues within Children's Disability, Adult and Primary & Elderly Services in regards to compliance of Direct Payments.

Monitoring quarterly returns of bank statements Opening and scanning of post Monitoring shared email Inbox Downloading and filing statements & letters Updating Trust systems and relevant excel databases Drafting and issuing of reminder letters & emails Recording money returned and liaising with Cash Office Work collaboratively with finance colleagues to ensure a consistent financial control environment and probity of client finances.

Where necessary, refer recoupment of outstanding Direct Payment monies in relation to closed cases and excess balances.

Liaise with a range of stakeholders both internal and external to the Trust including finance staff, Trust operational colleagues, other HSC representatives, and related regulatory/audit representatives.

Support a professional environment for team to escalate issues and concerns to Direct Payment Finance Officer or Financial Governance Officer.

Ensuring timely investigation and resolution of said issues.

Essential Criteria 5 GCSEs Grades A-C to include English & Maths or equivalent AND 1 year's suitable relevant experience in a finance department.

OR 3 years suitable relevant experience in a finance department.
*Relevant experience is defined as working in an office in a financial environment, e.g.

administration of financial processes, liaising with others in relation to financial procedures, and/or other financial record keeping SECTION 2: The following are ESSENTIAL criteria which will be measured during the interview/ selection stage: 1.

Ability to work on own initiative.

2.

Ability to work with clients and staff at all levels in the Trust.

3.

Effective organisational skills.

4.

Ability to develop and maintain efficient and effective administration and office systems, e.g.

filing, mail, coordination and collation 5.

Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of having worked with a range of stakeholders.
