About the role
Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - PPA Cover (All Primary Year Groups)
We are seeking a confident and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a school in Pontefract and provide PPA cover across all primary year groups (EYFS-Year 6).
In this role, you will deliver pre-planned lessons, maintain a positive learning environment, and support pupils progress across a range of subjects. The successful candidate will be flexible, organised, and able to engage pupils of different ages and abilities.
This is an ASAP start and will run until the summer.
Key responsibilities:
Deliver pre-planned lessons during teachers PPA time
Work across all primary year groups (EYFS-Year 6)
Manage classroom behaviour effectively
Support pupils learning and engagement
Provide feedback to class teachers on pupil progress
The ideal candidate will:
Hold HLTA status (or equivalent experience)
Have experience working across the primary age range
Demonstrate strong classroom management skills
Be adaptable, proactive, and committed to supporting pupils learning
