Commercial Assistant – Rail / Infrastructure Location: Huddersfield Salary: £36,000 Job Type: Permanent Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 days office / 2 days WFH We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Assistant to join an established engineering and infrastructure business. The role will initially involve a 6–9 month secondment supporting the commercial team on a major rail infrastructure programme, before returning to the wider business. The Role You will support the Commercial Manager and wider team with day-to-day commercial administration, including: Supporting weekly labour call-offs and orders Checking timesheets, rates and supplier applications for payment Processing authorised amendments and variations Maintaining commercial trackers, records and audit trails Liaising with suppliers and project teams to resolve queries Providing general commercial and administrative support About You Highly organised with strong attention to detail Confident using Microsoft Excel Good communication and problem-solving skills Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks Previous commercial, finance, procurement or administration experience desirable A relevant QS, commercial or construction qualification would be advantageous Rail/infrastructure experience desirable but not essential This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within commercial management, with potential progression towards Quantity Surveying.
