Interim Head of Environmental Health

Starfish Search is supporting a Local Authority in the North of England to appoint an Interim Head of Environmental Health to lead the delivery of its Environmental Health Service across the district.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Environmental Health Service across the district
• Oversee food safety, environmental protection, public health and regulatory enforcement
• Manage a large multidisciplinary team, including four managers
• Provide strategic advice on complex Environmental Health and regulatory matters
• Lead service planning, performance, budgets and continuous improvement
• Work closely with senior officers, elected Members and external stakeholders
• Ensure the Council meets its statutory Environmental Health responsibilities

About You:

• Experienced Interim Head of Environmental Health or senior Environmental Health Manager
• Strong operational and strategic Environmental Health background
• Experience leading large, multidisciplinary teams and significant budgets
• Strong experience of regulatory enforcement xwzovoh and statutory services
• Qualified and professionally registered in Environmental Health
• Confident working with senior stakeholders and elected Members
• Strong understanding of the political and regulatory environment within local government
