Practice Bookkeeper

Bookkeeper (Practice) | Aylebsury | £30,000 – £38,000 DOE | Permanent, Full Time Some bookkeeping roles are repetitive and reactive. This one is different. You’ll join a well-established Aylesbury practice where bookkeeping is treated as a valued part of the service — not an afterthought. You’ll take responsibility for your own client work, keep records clean and compliant, and build relationships with people who appreciate reliable support. It suits someone who wants to feel trusted, keep standards high, and work across a broad mix of clients rather than being stuck in one routine. Your focus will be on: Day-to-day bookkeeping using cloud accounting platforms Keeping ledgers accurate and reconciled, ready for accounts/VAT deadlines VAT returns and compliance support across a range of clients CIS submissions and contractor bookkeeping where applicable Handling registrations and HMRC liaison as needed Spotting issues early and keeping clients on track (rather than firefighting late)You’ll be a good fit if you: Have practice or multi-client bookkeeping experience Are confident taking work through to trial balance Understand VAT well and can work to deadlines without chasing Have CIS exposure (helpful, not essential) Communicate clearly with clients and colleaguesWhats on Offer: Competitive salary of £30,000 – £36,000 per year depending on experience A supportive and professional working environment Opportunities for career development and ongoing training Friendly, collaborative team culture
