Job Description

An international business operating in the shipping and maritime sector is seeking a Claims Lawyer to join its London-based legal team.

The following information aims to provide potential candidates with a better understanding of the requirements for this role.

This is an opportunity to work on complex, high-value maritime claims and disputes while providing commercially focused legal advice to stakeholders across operations, chartering, technical and safety functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Managing a broad range of shipping and maritime claims.

Advising on charterparty, cargo, casualty and contractual disputes.

Working closely with operational teams to assess risk and develop practical solutions.

Liaising with insurers, external counsel and other industry stakeholders.

Supporting the business on legal strategy and claims resolution.

About You:

• 
  
• Qualified Lawyer with c-10+ PQE in shipping claims.

Experience in shipping, maritime law or marine insurance.

Background gained in private practice, a P&I Club, insurer or in-house environment.

Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage matters from inception through to resolution.

Commercially minded, proactive and able to build relationships across a business.
