Salary: £20,250 per annum (pro rata based on 30 hours), full-time equivalent £27,000 based on 40 hours
Hours: 30 hours per week, Monday Friday, 9am 4pm, with an hour for lunch (unpaid)
Arden Bridge Services is an independent garage established in 2005, providing servicing, repairs and maintenance for all makes and models of vehicles.
We pride ourselves on delivering the technical expertise and professional standards you would expect from a main dealer with the friendly, personal service of an independent garage. Thanks to our reputation for quality workmanship and excellent customer care, much of our business comes from repeat customers and word of mouth recommendations.
As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an organised and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to become a key member of our team and help us maintain the high standards of service our customers have come to expect.
The Role
This is a varied and hands-on position that combines customer service, workshop administration, and service coordination. You will be the first point of contact for customers and play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the reception and workshop administration functions.
Customer Service & Reception
Greet customers and provide a professional and welcoming first impression
Act as the first point of contact for customer enquiries, both in person and over the phone
Answer incoming calls, take messages, and direct enquiries appropriately
Respond to customer emails promptly and professionally
Assist with customer vehicle collections and drop-offs where required
Workshop Administration
Create and manage job cards for workshop bookings
Produce customer quotations and estimates
Generate invoices and process customer payments
Process loan vehicle documentation and maintain accurate records
Maintain and update the MOT diary, ensuring appointments are scheduled efficiently
Keep trade account invoicing accurate and up to date
Order vehicle parts and source the most cost-effective suppliers while maintaining quality and availability
Monitor and set up WhatsApp groups to assist with communication and workflow management
General Office & Operational Support
Carry out day-to-day administrative duties to support the smooth running of the business
Maintain the reception and customer waiting area, ensuring it remains clean, professional, and fully stocked
Keep accurate records of employee annual leave and holidays
Support the workshop team with administrative and operational tasks as required
What We're Looking For
Essential
Previous experience working within a motor trade, vehicle servicing, repair, or garage environment
Good understanding of workshop processes and the automotive industry
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
Good IT skills and experience using office systems
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Full UK driving licence
Desirable
Experience in a Service Advisor, Service Manager, Workshop Controller, or Garage Reception role
Familiarity with workshop management systems
Experience sourcing and ordering vehicle parts
