Senior Social Worker

We are seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the Hospital Social Work Team based within the A&E Department at Charing Cross Hospital. This is a fast-paced frontline role, working alongside NHS colleagues to support individuals presenting in the Emergency Department and ensure timely, safe and effective interventions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking strengths-based assessments, safeguarding enquiries, Mental Capacity Act assessments, best interest decision-making and complex care planning for adults with a wide range of needs. You will work closely with patients, families, carers and partner agencies to identify appropriate support, prevent unnecessary admissions where possible and facilitate safe and effective discharge planning.

As a senior practitioner, you will manage complex cases, provide professional guidance and support to colleagues, and contribute to the delivery of a high-quality Adult Social Care service. The role requires excellent risk assessment skills, sound professional judgement and the ability to make informed decisions within tight timescales.

Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you will build effective relationships with healthcare professionals, community services and external providers to achieve positive outcomes for service users. The ideal candidate will have significant experience within Adult Social Care, preferably in a hospital or emergency care setting, and be confident working in a demanding, high-pressure environment where prioritisation, resilience and effective communication are essential.
