Lead Employee Relations in a Growing Business


Uniserve is the UK's leading independent logistics and global trade management provider, employing colleagues across a diverse network of operational, logistics, warehousing and commercial locations.

Due to the continued evolution of our Employee Relations function, we are seeking an ambitious and commercially minded HR Manager – Employee Relations to join our team.

Location: South Region / Hybrid Working (Upminster Base)

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Business Partner, Senior HR Adviser or aspiring HR Manager looking to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will lead employee relations activity across the South Region while supporting wider ER initiatives and organisational change projects.

The role is based predominantly in the South, with regular travel to business locations and an expectation to spend time in Upminster to develop business knowledge, relationships and understanding of Uniserve's operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage complex employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence and appeal cases.
  • Partner with senior operational leaders to provide commercially focused HR advice.
  • Coach and develop managers to improve people management capability.
  • Support organisational change, restructuring and consultation exercises.
  • Identify and mitigate employment risks.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and company policies.
  • Analyse trends and management information to support decision-making.
  • Support development of the wider Employee Relations function.


What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience in a HR Business Partner, Senior HR Adviser or HR Manager role.
  • Strong employee relations and employment law expertise.
  • Experience supporting operational or fast-paced environments.
  • Commercially aware with strong problem-solving capability.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • CIPD Level 5 qualified or above (or equivalent experience). xwzovoh
  • Flexible and willing to travel across the South Region.
