Foreman - Sheet Metal Dept

Location: Sittingbourne, Kent Salary: £40,000 - £46,000 DOE Type: Permanent Role Hours: Monday - Friday 06:00am - 14:15pm Our client is a market leader in their industry of fabrication within Kent and due to a retirement, they have a requirement for a Foreman over their Sheet Metal Department. Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the Foreman will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations within the sheet metal department, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and to the required quality standards. Key responsibilities include: Supervising and supporting a team of sheet metal operatives. Planning and allocating daily workloads. Reading and interpreting engineering drawings. Overseeing fabrication, forming, cutting, folding and assembly processes. Ensuring production targets and deadlines are achieved. Carrying out quality checks and maintaining high standards of workmanship. Supporting the team with technical issues and problem-solving. Monitoring materials, tools, and equipment. Ensuring all health & safety procedures are followed. Working closely with Production and Engineering teams to improve efficiency What They're Looking For Previous experience in sheet metal fabrication is essential. Previous supervisory or foreman experience is highly desirable. (3-5 years minimum) Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Good knowledge of sheet metal processes and fabrication techniques. Confident leadership and communication skills Lean Manufacturing, 3S/5S, IOSH Managing Safely, First Aid, Forklift Licence, ERP/MRP experience desirable. Strong attention to detail and quality. Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities. Ability to motivate and support a team in a busy manufacturing environment.
