About the role

Senior R&D Tax Consultant

London | On-site

Strong base salary + commission + benefits

The experience expected from applicants, as well as additional skills and qualifications needed for this job are listed below.

Don't stagnate!

You're doing everything right. You're recognised as one of the strongest consultants in the business, you're delivering great work and your clients value you, but somehow that next step in your career still hasn't happened.

Sound familiar?

This is an opportunity to join a well-known and highly respected consultancy where you can continue developing your career, take on greater responsibility and actually have some influence over where that career goes.

The business is in an exciting phase of growth and development, but the culture remains highly collaborative. You'll be surrounded by people who want to work together, share knowledge and help each other succeed, whilst still being challenged to learn and develop.

And importantly, there's no one-size-fits-all career path. If you want to move into people management and build a team, there's a path for that. If you'd rather become a strong Manager of your own portfolio and continue developing your technical and commercial expertise, that's equally valued.

The role

You'll take ownership of a broad and interesting portfolio, working with everyone from innovative start-ups through to FTSE-listed businesses.

You'll have exposure to:

  • Managing your own portfolio of R&D Tax clients across a range of industries.
  • Building strong relationships with clients and understanding their R&D activities.
  • Leading technical discussions and interviews to identify qualifying R&D.
  • Preparing and delivering high-quality R&D Tax claims.
  • Working across the full 360 R&D Tax process rather than being restricted to one area.
  • Developing your understanding of costing and the financial side of claims, with support from an experienced team if this is an area you haven't previously worked in.
  • Working closely with a highly collaborative team, whilst still having ownership of your own clients and responsibilities.
  • Getting involved in a variety of client situations and projects, giving you plenty of opportunity to keep learning and developing.

The team has a strong track record of developing successful R&D Tax Consultants into genuinely 360 professionals, so this is a role where you can continue building your skillset rather than simply doing more of what you already know.

What you'll need

  • Ideally 3-5 years' experience working in R&D Tax, with exposure to a broad client portfolio.
  • A PhD in a scientific discipline is essential.
  • Based in London and comfortable working on-site. xwzovoh
