Design Engineer

Position : Design Engineer, Applications Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Retrofit Engineer Location : South Yorkshire, Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley, Chesterfield Hybrid : No - this role is office based Monday to Friday Salary : £35,000 -£55,000 negotiable Visa : No support or sponsorship is available - you MUST have the right to live and work in the UK This is a very interesting role for a Mechanical Engineer who wants a varied workload. Yes, you will take on product design, development and detailing but the work will commence with on-site measuring of mechanical products and components that are already installed in a piece of capital plant. The measurements will then be taken back to the office to create engineering and manufacturing designs and drawings. The installed plant coud be anywhere in the world, so the ability and willingness to travel is essential. Excellent written and spoken English is essential as you will be dealing with customers for whom English is a foreign language. 2d and 3d CAD skills are essential with any one of the main packages - Solidworks, SolidEdge, Autodesk Inventor etc A formal mechanical engineering qualification is very much preferred. Attention to detail is essential as mistakes at any part of the process can be extremely expensive The ability to compose technical reports is required An understanding of material selection, heat treatment; specific knowledge in casting, cutting, welding and machining etc is beneficial About Us We are dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive community.
