Are you practical, reliable and eager to learn? This is an opportunity to develop hands-on skills in metal fabrication, welding and machinery use while working alongside an experienced workshop team.
As our Trainee Fabricator, you will support day-to-day workshop operations, complete structured training and work towards becoming a qualified welder/fabricator. No previous fabrication experience is essential. What matters most is a positive attitude, a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
Full-time workshop-based in Southam, Warwickshire

What you’ll be doing
Learning how to prepare steel for welding, including cutting, bending and drilling.
Supporting practical workshop tasks, including the safe lifting and handling of materials.
Helping to complete work orders accurately and on time.
Assisting with material scheduling and ordering.
Undertaking the training and tasks needed to become a qualified welder/fabricator.
Following health and safety requirements and Niko’s ISO 9001 processes and procedures.
Helping to resolve technical problems and suggesting improvements where appropriate.
What we’re looking for
A positive attitude and genuine willingness to learn.
A reliable approach and good timekeeping.
Self-motivation and the ability to follow instructions.
A cooperative, team-focused approach.
An interest in fabrication, engineering or practical technical work.
A commitment to working safely and producing quality work.
It would be helpful, but it isn’t essential, if you have:
GCSE Maths and English, or equivalent.
Experience in a fabrication or workshop environment.
The ability to understand technical drawings.
A full UK driving licence.
Who this role would suit
This role would suit a school leaver, college leaver, career changer or anyone interested in developing a practical career in fabrication and engineering. You do not need to arrive with all the technical skills. We are looking for someone with the right attitude, reliability and enthusiasm to develop.
