Job Title: Asbestos Surveyor Location: Chelmsford Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established UKAS-accredited asbestos consultancy in their search for an experienced Asbestos Surveyor to join their team in Chelmsford. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Asbestos Surveyor to join a respected consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality asbestos surveying services across Essex and the South East. Working across a varied portfolio of commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, and public sector properties, you'll benefit from a structured workload, supportive management, and genuine long-term career progression. THE ROLE As an Asbestos Surveyor, you will carry out Management and Refurbishment & Demolition (R&D) asbestos surveys across a diverse range of client sites throughout Chelmsford, Essex, and the surrounding areas. Working independently with the support of an experienced operations team, the Asbestos Surveyor will ensure all work is completed to the highest standard while maintaining full compliance with HSG264, current asbestos legislation, HSE guidance, and UKAS procedures. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Carrying out Management and Refurbishment & Demolition (R&D) asbestos surveys in accordance with HSG264 Conducting bulk asbestos sampling across commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, and public sector properties Producing accurate and compliant asbestos survey reports Managing your own diary and workload efficiently Liaising professionally with clients, contractors, and internal teams Maintaining accurate electronic records and survey documentation Ensuring all work complies with current asbestos legislation and HSE guidance WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR BOHS P402 qualification (essential) Previous experience working as an Asbestos Surveyor Strong understanding of HSG264 and current asbestos legislation Experience working within a UKAS-accredited consultancy is desirable Full UK driving licence Excellent communication, organisational, and report-writing skills Professional, reliable, and quality-focused approach to work WHAT'S ON OFFER Competitive salary Company vehicle provided Company pension scheme Ongoing training and professional development Structured workload with strong operational support Permanent, long-term opportunity with excellent career progression If you are interested in this role, contact Joel Bland on (phone number removed) or email
