Operating at the forefront of vehicle electrification and sustainable transport technologies, the business designs, develops, and manufactures innovative transportation solutions, supporting customers through the full product lifecycle from concept and engineering through to production and deployment.
Due to continued growth and an expanding programme portfolio, they are seeking an experienced Programme Manager to lead the successful delivery of multiple high-value programmes across the business.
The Role
This is a senior programme leadership position responsible for overseeing complex, multi-disciplinary programmes from initiation through to successful delivery.
You will have overall accountability for programme performance, ensuring projects are delivered to agreed quality, cost, and delivery objectives while managing cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, commercial, and operational functions.
Working closely with senior leadership, customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, you will drive programme execution, manage risk, oversee resource allocation, and ensure strategic business objectives are achieved.
The role would suit an experienced Programme Manager with a background in manufacturing, automotive, transportation, aerospace, defence, or other complex engineering environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage multiple complex programmes comprising several interconnected projects and workstreams
- Establish programme governance structures, delivery frameworks, and reporting processes
- Ensure programme milestones, budgets, quality targets, and business objectives are achieved
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales, Aftermarket, and external partners
- Chair programme reviews, governance meetings, steering committees, and gate reviews
- Provide regular programme reporting, KPI tracking, risk summaries, and executive updates to senior leadership
- Manage programme budgets, resource allocation, forecasting, and planning activities
- Identify, manage, and mitigate programme-level risks, issues, and dependencies
- Drive resolution of complex technical, operational, and commercial challenges
- Ensure customer requirements are understood, managed, and delivered throughout the programme lifecycle
- Support bid, tender, and quotation activities from a programme delivery perspective
- Monitor programme benefits and ensure successful realisation of strategic objectives
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and embed lessons learned into future programmes
- Support the development and mentoring of programme and project delivery teams
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, internal governance processes, and relevant regulatory requirements
About You
- HND in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline
- Minimum 3 years' experience operating as a Programme Manager or Senior Project Manager within a manufacturing environment
- Experience managing multiple projects, programmes, or large-scale engineering initiatives
- Strong commercial awareness with proven experience managing programme budgets and financial performance
- Demonstrable experience in resource planning and programme scheduling
- Proficient in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership teams
- Ability to operate independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Willingness to travel internationally when required
Desirable Experience
- Degree qualified in Engineering or a related discipline
- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering background
- Experience managing grant-funded programmes
- Chartered Engineer status or recognised management qualification
- Knowledge of design software and 3D modelling systems
- Experience leading organisational change and process improvement initiatives
