About the role

We are currently looking for a talented Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Llanidloes to Assist the Canteen Manager to undertake all tasks within the canteen to ensure a high-quality service to all staff across the site.

Shift pattern: Monday to Friday 06:00am – 14:30pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deputise for the Manager in their absence. Accept responsibility and be accountable for day-to-day activities.
  • Ordering of stock including raising/receipting PO's on SAP (covering Manager holidays/absence)
  • Continuously review menus
  • Preparing and cooking of food
  • Assist onsite events such as summer BBQ and staff Christmas dinner
  • Participate in on site engagement activities i.e. Free Breakfast Friday's / charity fundraising
  • Assist stock taking and product rotation
  • Serving of food and beverages
  • Collect monies and operate cash till
  • Cleaning of kitchen equipment, worktops, tables and floors
  • Report faults to Line Manager so they can be put right quickly to avoid downtime and potential loss of stock
  • Prepare Buffets / refreshments for on-site meetings
  • Comply with company health and safety standards at all times and ensure work areas are kept clean and tidy
  • Comply with food hygiene standards at all times
  • Comply with all COSHH and HACCP guidelines

Skills , knowledge & Qualifications:

  • Keeps up to date with relevant legislation affecting staff catering facilities
  • Previous kitchen experience
  • Previous experience assisting the running of canteen kitchen
  • Good verbal, written and numerical skills
  • Well organised
  • A team player
  • Self-motivated
  • Friendly individual with focus on customer service
  • Good PC skills
  • Social media activities
