Groundworks Foreman – North West Location: Preston / Projects across the North West Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum, depending on experience Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent About the Company We are a long-standing, family-run regional contractor based in Preston, with an established reputation for delivering high-quality groundworks and civil engineering projects across the North West. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, we are looking to appoint an experienced Groundworks Foreman to join our established team. This is a long-term opportunity with a stable and well-established family business, with a varied allocation of projects across the North West. The Role As Groundworks Foreman, you will be responsible for supervising groundworks and civils operations on site, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards. Working closely with the Site Manager and wider project team, you will oversee site gangs and subcontractors and help ensure projects are delivered to programme. Key Responsibilities * Supervise and coordinate groundworks and civils activities * Manage and motivate groundworkers, plant operatives and subcontractors * Ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to specification * Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications * Coordinate labour, plant and materials * Monitor quality, productivity and progress * Carry out toolbox talks and maintain site safety standards * Liaise with Site Managers, Engineers and other site personnel * Identify and resolve day-to-day site issues * Maintain high standards of housekeeping and health & safety * Assist with planning and programming of works About You We are looking for an experienced Groundworks Foreman with a proven background in civils and groundworks projects. The successful candidate will ideally have: * Previous experience as a Groundworks Foreman or Senior Groundworker * Strong experience working on civils and groundworks projects * Experience supervising site teams and subcontractors * Good knowledge of drainage, foundations, roads, utilities and earthworks * Ability to read and understand construction drawings * Good communication and organisational skills * A strong understanding of health & safety requirements * Relevant CSCS qualification * SSSTS or SMSTS * Full UK driving licence What We Offer * £40,000 – £45,000 salary, depending on experience * Permanent position with a long-standing family-run contractor * Consistent workload across the North West * Variety of civils and groundworks projects * Stable, established company with a strong reputation * Long-term career opportunity * Supportive working environment * Company vehicle / vehicle allowance depending on experience and requirements Apply If you're an experienced Groundworks Foreman looking for a secure, long-term position with an established regional contractor, we'd like to hear from you.
