Our client is a globally recognised, engineering-led manufacturer specialising in high-integrity, performance-critical metallic components and systems for aerospace, automotive, and power generation sectors.
The business is experiencing significant growth and has recently made substantial investment in its people, processes, and state-of-the-art equipment to support expanding customer demand and next-generation programmes.
As part of a major strategic investment, the organisation is enhancing capabilities at a key UK manufacturing site to support next-generation aerospace platforms, advanced automotive systems, and energy technologies. This includes growth into highly regulated, certification-driven programmes requiring advanced materials, precision manufacturing, and robust engineering governance.
They are now seeking a senior engineering leader to drive technical excellence, capability development, and engineering performance across the site.
The Role – Engineering Manager
The Engineering Manager will lead the site’s engineering function, with full accountability for technical strategy, capability development, and engineering delivery across aerospace, automotive, and power generation programmes.
You will ensure all engineering activities meet the requirements of safety-critical, regulated industries, including compliance with standards such as AS9100, IATF 16949, and relevant energy sector specifications.
As a key member of the Leadership Team, you will work closely with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Commercial teams, and OEM / Tier 1 customers to deliver engineering solutions that support performance, compliance, cost, and reliability.
Key Requirements
- Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- CEng status desirable.
- 10+ years’ engineering leadership experience within advanced manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, or power / energy sectors.
- Strong background in safety-critical or regulated environments.
- Experience in aerospace (AS9100), automotive, or power generation / turbomachinery advantageous.
- Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of precision manufacturing, advanced metallic materials, machining, tooling, and capital equipment.
- Experience delivering NPI, industrialisation, and engineering change in regulated environments.
- Knowledge of engineering governance, compliance, and certification frameworks.
- Track record aligning engineering strategy with operational and commercial goals.
