DescriptionThe Firm Capula Investment Management is a leading global quantitative hedge fund managing over $35 billion in assets. We are headquartered in London and have offices in New York, Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Geneva and Abu Dhabi. We manage absolute return, enhanced fixed income, macro and alpha strategies for a diversified group of investors worldwide. Capula invests in a broad universe of asset classes, including fixed income, equities, currencies and commodities, as well as derivatives related to these asset classes.The TeamThe Capula Finance team is comprised of six professionals and is led by the Chief Financial Officer and the Head of Finance. The Team is responsible for Finance at Capula, working at the head office in London, UK and overseeing the finance function for other overseas entities. The team is responsible for all aspects of Finance for the management company entities, including management accounts, financial statements, budgeting, monitoring and reporting KPIs, accounts payable, cost allocations, expense recharges and tax compliance. The team works closely with other internal Capula teams and with external advisers including tax, audit and professional services. Overall purpose of the job:Process all UK company invoices and expenses using in the company accounting software. Register, obtain authorisation, manage and ensure prompt payments via external paying agent Prepare inter-company invoices and reconciliations Process the preparation of monthly management accounts, including instructing and reviewing the work of external bookkeepers Prepare financial analysis, including analysis of performance to budget for key expense accounts Manage and process employee expenses and credit card expenditure on a monthly basis Administer the company fixed asset register, including recording additions and disposal of assets Carry out tax compliance duties, including the distribution of tax withholding statements Participate in the annual budget process, including drafting the budget for certain expense accounts Adhere to all company procedures and internal controls for the role’s responsibilities, including participating in the assessment of internal controls and suggest improvements Support in any other ad-hoc project or tasks as requiredRequirementsEducation and QualificationsUniversity degree educated (degree in Accounting, Finance, or Maths preferable) Experience1-2 years prior experience in an accounting role or similar desiredGraduates with prior work experience or an interest in accounting are also encouraged to applyExperience with SAP or similar ERP systems beneficialSkills Numerate and hands-on Accuracy and attention to detail Pro-active, ability to work under pressure and independently Strong communication skills, you must have strong written and spoken fluency in English Collaborates effectively with colleagues, fostering a cooperative environment to achieve common goals and deliver exceptional resultsAbility to apply technical skills to a process with data management and analysis being beneficial Strong knowledge or previous experience with bookkeeping systems to provide excellent oversight of accountants Ability to build strong relationships both within the company and with external parties Ability to multitask and prioritise daily workload with interruptions of ad hoc requirements Strong Excel skills, with ability to produce analysis and reports of high quality Strong technical skills that can include but not limited to (Excel, VBA and Python) Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify inefficiencies and propose practical solutionsCuriosity and comfort with AI tools and emerging technologies, with an interest in applying these to improve finance processes and workflowsBenefitsCapula is dedicated to helping all employees flourish in their roles by supporting your professional development.We will provide:A competitive salary and bonus schemeExcellent staff development and training opportunitiesCorporate gym membership (and a complimentary wellness space in our London office)Generous pension contributionFree breakfast and lunch in our employee restaurantPrivate medical insurance and other benefitsCapula is committed to fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment, providing employees with the opportunity to develop their skills and advance their careers in the financial sector.
