About the role

A key focus of the role is to coach and develop our European Tax Manager, preparing them to step into the permanent Head of Tax position. Alongside this development mandate, you will oversee global tax matters, including an ongoing HMRC audit, UK tax compliance, transfer pricing, and half‑year and year‑end tax reporting.
You will also play a key advisory role in the tax workstream of the Group’s ERP implementation.
This fractional role will be for 2 days a week, 1 of those days ideally being in the London office, as well as being available to occasionally travel to Portugal for coaching and key meetings.

- Mentor and upskill the European Tax Manager through a structured succession plan
- Strengthen tax governance, controls, processes, and documentation
- Lead UK corporation tax compliance, filings, payments, claims, and elections
- Own and manage the ongoing HMRC audit, advising senior stakeholders on risk and strategy
- Oversee IFRS tax reporting, including ETR analysis, deferred tax, and disclosures
- Ensure audit‑ready documentation and effective collaboration with external auditors
- Manage and review the Group’s transfer pricing framework and documentation
- Coordinate global tax compliance and advisory matters with local advisors
- Support cross‑border tax planning, withholding tax issues, and local audits
- Act as a key advisor on tax requirements within the ERP upgrade programme

- Solid IFRS tax accounting and group reporting experience
- Transfer pricing and cross‑border tax knowledge
- Experience with ERP implementations or tax technology (desirable)
- A collaborative, pragmatic leader with a passion for coaching and development
- Ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders in a fast‑paced environment
