Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Bridgwater, Somerset (Hybrid working) - Full-time

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will design, implement, and support enterprise-grade infrastructure platforms across VMware virtualisation environments and hybrid cloud architectures leveraging Microsoft Azure. This role also supports Windows Server-based application and identity services, ensuring they are secure, highly available, and aligned with organisational standards while building strong relationships with internal and external customers.

This is a hybrid working role, which will see you work from home and travel to the Dunball office in Bridgwater from time to time. What you’ll do:

Act as go-to person across customer accounts, supporting both internal and external requirements

Provide 3rd line technical expertise, resolving complex infrastructure and platform issues

Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement to minimise service impact

Design, build and support VMware and Azure hybrid infrastructure solutions

Produce and peer review LLDs / low-level designs and support solution development

Support pre-staging, testing, and deployment of infrastructure solutions

Provide technical input into customer engagements, proposals and presentations

Who you are:

A hands-on and experienced Infrastructure Engineer / IT Engineer / ICT Engineer with strong expertise across virtualisation and hybrid Cloud technologies. You are a technical leader who thrives in complex environments, with the ability to mentor others, build trusted stakeholder relationships, and deliver reliable, secure and high-performing infrastructure solutions.

Key Requirements:

Strong experience with VMware virtualisation platforms in enterprise environments

Proven experience with Microsoft Azure / MS Azure and hybrid cloud architectures

Hands-on expertise with Windows Server technologies (AD DS, DNS, DHCP, IIS, SQL Server)

Experience with infrastructure automation using PowerShell, PowerCLI or similar

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across multi-layered systems

Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders and support customers

Relevant certifications (e.g. VMware VCP/VCAP, Microsoft Azure certifications) desirable
