This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior QS to step into a No.1 position , taking full commercial ownership of projects while leading and developing a team beneath them.

The business has a strong pipeline of secured work and a reputation for delivering high-quality, detail-driven joinery packages across London and the South East.

This role will suit a commercially astute individual who is confident managing projects from pre-construction through to final account, while driving performance, profitability, and client relationships.

Key Responsibilities Full Commercial Ownership (No.1 Role) Take responsibility for the end-to-end commercial management of projects, ensuring financial performance, contractual compliance, and successful delivery.

Team Leadership & Development Manage and mentor a team of Quantity Surveyors, overseeing performance, output, and professional development.

Cost Planning & Financial Control Prepare pre-tender profit plans, cashflow forecasts, and monitor project performance through detailed cost reporting and monthly profit reviews.

Valuations & Payments Oversee the preparation and submission of monthly valuations (client and supply chain), ensuring timely and accurate cash recovery.

Procurement & Package Management Lead the procurement of joinery and fit-out packages, ensuring alignment with programme, cost plans, and contractual obligations.

Commercial & Contractual Management Prepare and manage main contract documentation, including warranties and consultant appointments, while ensuring compliance with all contractual terms.

Variations, Value Engineering & Risk Management Identify and manage variations, drive value engineering opportunities, and mitigate commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle.

Final Accounts & Project Close-Out Lead the agreement of final accounts both upstream and downstream, ensuring projects are commercially closed out effectively. xwzovoh

Client Interface & Aftercare Maintain strong client relationships, working closely with client-side QS teams and supporting post-completion aftercare.

Requirements 510 years experience working with a joinery or fit-out contractor Proven experience operating at Senior QS level or ready to step into a No.1 role Strong leadership capability with experience managing or mentoring junior surveyors Excellent commercial awareness and understanding of construction contracts Confident managing projects from pre-construction through to final account Strong negotiation, reporting, and stakeholder management skills Able to commute to Hertfordshire HQ Benefits £60,000
