Client Local Authority in East London Job Title Commercial Estates Surveyor Pay Rate £500 Daily Umbrella Hours 36 Hours a week(Mon-Fri) Duration Initial 3 month interim contract Location Hybrid Working- 2-3 days on site/office based in Newham Description Role Purpose: The Estate Surveyor is part of a team managing over 600 Council owned commercial properties, the majority of which are retail, but also includes industrial, offices and land . The successful candidate must be a Member or Fellow of the royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or actively working towards gaining chartership. Duties to be involved in: * Commercial portfolio management * Landlord and tenant matters * Rent reviews and lease renewals * Lettings and lease negotiations * Service charge management and recovery * Assignments, sublettings, licences and wayleaves * Arrears management and tenant engagement * Property inspections and general estate management * Income generation and asset management initiatives MRICS qualification and previous local authority experience would be highly desirable. EXPERIENCE: >Demonstrable experience in managing a large mixed-use commercial property portfolio. >Experience in managing tenants from the community and voluntary sector >Experience with reporting to and managing the expectations of elected members.
