Senior HV Design Engineer Birmingham – Hybrid £80,000 – £100,000 VIQU is working with a leading engineering organisation delivering high-voltage infrastructure and electrical design solutions across the energy sector. They are seeking an experiencedSenior HV Design Engineer to play a key role in coordinating and assuring the delivery of HV electrical design projects while supporting the growth of an in-house engineering capability. Key Responsibilities of the Senior HV Design Engineer role: Lead and coordinate HV electrical design activities across substation and infrastructure projects Manage interfaces between Primary, Protection & Control and secondary electrical disciplines Coordinate internal teams, subcontract designers and external consultants to ensure integrated delivery Support technical assurance, design reviews and sign-off activities in line with NERS and industry standards Identify and mitigate technical and delivery risks across projects Act as a key technical interface with clients, DNOs, Tier 1 contractors and stakeholders Support bids, tenders and early-stage project delivery strategies Contribute to the development of internal electrical design capability and mentor future team members Key Requirements of the Senior HV Design Engineer role: Significant experience within HV electrical design, particularly substations and related infrastructure Background in either Primary Design or Protection & Control (P&C) leadership Experience working with DNOs, Tier 1 contractors or engineering consultancies Knowledge of NERS standards and regulated engineering environments Experience reviewing and approving electrical engineering outputs Strong stakeholder management and multidisciplinary coordination skills Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline Chartered Engineer status (CEng/IEng) preferred or equivalent experience Apply now to speak with VIQU IT in confidence, or reach out to Fay Toomey via the VIQU IT website.
