About the role
Behaviour Mentor (SEMH) - Immediate start | Make a Lasting Difference
Are you a compassionate, resilient, and positive role model who is passionate about supporting children to overcome barriers to learning? We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join our warm and welcoming school community this September, working closely with pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is a deeply rewarding role where your support can help transform a child's experience of school-building trust, confidence, and a pathway to success.
What we offer:
* A caring, inclusive school environment where relationships are at the heart of everything we do
* A supportive and understanding leadership team
* Ongoing training and professional development, particularly in SEMH and behaviour support
* A strong team ethos with experienced staff who work collaboratively
* The opportunity to make a genuine and lasting impact every day
The role:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
* Build positive, trusting relationships that help pupils feel safe and understood
* Support pupils in managing emotions, behaviour, and social interactions
* Work alongside teachers to remove barriers to learning and promote engagement
* Implement behaviour support strategies and individual plans
* Encourage resilience, independence, and positive choices
We are looking for someone who:
* Is patient, empathetic, and calm under pressure
* Has experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs (desirable but not essential)
* Is a strong communicator with the ability to build rapport quickly
* Is proactive, flexible, and solution-focused
* Believes in every child's potential and is committed to helping them succeed
Whether you come from an education, youth work, or care background, if you have the passion and dedication to support young people to thrive, we would love to hear from you.
Join us and be part of a school community where every child is supported, every challenge is met with care, and every success is celebrated
