Junior Risk Manager

We are looking for a Junior Risk Manager to join our expanding discretionary team. This is a unique opportunity to help further develop Squarepoint’s discretionary trading business worldwide. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing a structured risk management culture, ensuring a sound and stable operation of the business via the implementation of processes and controls to ensure that risks (market risks, operational risk, conduct risk, etc.) are properly managed and contributing to the overall growth of the fund. You will liaise and collaborate closely with our researchers and traders while leveraging our world class research platform. If you are looking to begin your career in Risk Management, we encourage you to apply.Position OverviewIdentify and evaluate risk associated with discretionary trading strategiesCollaborate with Quantitative Researcher and Traders on the strategies analysisEnsure the strategies are run  within the risk allocation defined by the Investment CommitteeAnalyze risk at the portfolio level and performance driversHelp with trade portfolio construction across the discretionary businessDrive the build out of Squarepoint risk framework by improving the firm's processes and infrastructure for management of the discretionary businessRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a quantitative or related field (includes degrees in Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Financial Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science and Physics); advanced degree preferredFrom graduate level up to 3 years of commercial experienceDemonstrated interest in Risk ManagementDemonstrated interest in a quantitative approachCapacity to collaborate with the trading, analysts and quants teamStrong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with teammates globallyStrong sense of urgency with the ability to work well in a fast-paced environmentThe minimum base salary for this role is $125,000 if located in New York.  This expectation is based on available information at the time of posting.  This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, which could constitute a significant portion of total compensation.  This role may also be eligible for benefits, such as health, dental, and other wellness plans, as well as 401(k) contributions.  Successful candidates’ compensation and benefits will be determined in consideration of various factors.
