Air Conditioning Engineer Location: Peterborough Contract: Permanent Hours: 45 hours per week Salary: £48,656.73 total salary, including standby payment £2,000 Joining Bonus (T&Cs apply) The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer to join a well-established engineering team, working across a major UK supermarket contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Air Conditioning Engineer looking for a stable, long-term position with an excellent salary package. You will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across a number of retail sites, ensuring HVAC and mechanical systems are operating safely and efficiently. The Role As an Air Conditioning Engineer, you will carry out regular planned store visits, completing PPMs, reactive repairs and minor installations. You will work on a varied range of HVAC and mechanical equipment across multiple commercial sites. Key Responsibilities * Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across multiple retail sites. * Service, maintain and repair air conditioning and HVAC equipment, including AHUs, FCUs, fans, pumps and boilers. * Complete PPMs in line with customer requirements and agreed schedules. * Diagnose faults and identify non-repairable equipment, providing recommendations for replacement. * Carry out minor alterations and installations within your level of competence. * Order replacement parts and spares in accordance with company procedures. * Complete accurate job reports and update the PDA system. * Work safely and professionally while maintaining excellent customer relationships. About You The successful Air Conditioning Engineer will ideally have: * NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in HVAC, Mechanical Engineering, Heating/Ventilation or an equivalent qualification. * F-Gas Category 1 qualification. * Previous experience carrying out commercial air conditioning maintenance. * Experience within a retail or multi-site environment would be advantageous. * Full UK driving licence. * Experience using a PDA or mobile maintenance system. * Ability to work at height and within confined spaces. * Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills. * A professional, customer-focused approach.
