ROLE: Site Manager
PAY RATE: £16.92 PAYE
JOB TYPE: 3 Months Contract
LOCATION: Liverpool, Merseyside, L36- Travel Between Multiple Site
HOURS: 37:50 hours per week
About the Role
We are currently looking for a Site Manager to support multiple school sites across the Liverpool area. This is a hands-on role involving general caretaking, practical maintenance, compliance checks and supervision of subcontractors. The successful candidate will need to be reliable, flexible and able to travel between different school sites as required by business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out general caretaking and site management duties across schools.
Open and close school buildings as required.
Carry out general maintenance tasks such as changing lamps, replacing ceiling tiles and minor repairs.
Complete planned maintenance and routine compliance checks, including:
Emergency lighting checks
Fire alarm testing
Door condition checks
Light switch checks
Legionella checks
Identify maintenance issues through daily "find it, fix it or report it" checks.
Log reactive maintenance jobs through the Helpdesk/CAFM system and provide updates on work orders.
Ensure maintenance tasks are completed within agreed SLAs and KPIs.
Support schools with deliveries, porter duties, exam set-ups and other site requirements.
Communicate effectively with school representatives and provide a professional customer service.
Carry out subcontractor inductions and maintain records of DBS checks, RAMS and inductions.
Supervise and manage subcontractors working on site.
Support additional school use, community activities and third-party lettings.
Participate in emergency call-outs when required.
Provide cover and assistance for holidays, sickness and other staff absences.
Work safely at height and carry out manual handling duties where required.
Complete any other reasonable duties associated with the role.
Essential Requirements
Full clean UK driving licence and ability to travel between multiple school sites.
Enhanced DBS clearance.
Previous practical maintenance experience.
Good understanding of Health & Safety.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable, flexible and self-motivated approach.
Comfortable using a computer, mobile phone and maintenance/CAFM systems.
Physically capable of manual handling, working at height and working alone when required.
Desirable Experience
Previous experience as a Site Manager, Caretaker, Facilities Assistant, Maintenance Operative or Facilities Management professional.
Experience working within schools, public buildings or facilities management environments.
Experience supervising subcontractors.
Experience with planned and reactive maintenance.
Knowledge of statutory compliance checks and PFI contracts.
