In this market-facing, trading role you'll help shape and grow our D&F Property offering, underwriting complex risks across international and specialty business. If you’re excited by the idea of building something, within the scale and stability of a global insurer and flexible working please reach out.The opportunityUnderwrite Direct & Facultative Property risks, with exposure to complex, international businessPlay a key role in the establishment and growth of the D&F Property portfolio, helping define appetite, focus areas and strategyBuild and strengthen relationships with London Market and international brokers, positioning QBE as a credible, long‑term D&F partnerContribute to the development and delivery of the business plan, supporting profitable and sustainable growthAct as a senior technical referral point, bringing strong underwriting judgement and market insightMaintain a strong understanding of market dynamics, capacity and pricing across the D&F Property spaceEnsure underwriting activity aligns with QBE’s underwriting standards, reinsurance strategy and regulatory requirementsWork closely with internal stakeholders across underwriting, operations and leadership as the proposition evolvesAbout youExperience within Property Underwriting, International or USDeep technical understanding of Property wordings, structures and programme designA commercial and entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable operating in a build and growth environmentConfidence and credibility when engaging with brokers and senior stakeholdersExcellent negotiation, communication and decision‑making skillsA collaborative approach, with the gravitas expected at senior underwriter levelHaving the right to work in the UK is a requirement for this role.
