Operations Engineer | Unisys Mainframe & OpCon

Contract | Inside IR35 | Hybrid (Cardiff)

We're supporting a major financial services organisation seeking an experienced Operations Engineer to support and enhance critical banking and payments platforms.

This is a hands-on role within a highly regulated environment, focusing on operational stability, major incident management, automation, and platform reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Provide senior operational support across business-critical systems
Lead and support major incident response activities
Act as a technical escalation point for complex issues
Drive service improvements, automation, and operational efficiencies
Support disaster recovery and business continuity activities
Manage system performance, resilience, and operational readiness
Work closely with infrastructure, development, security, and third-party suppliers

Unisys Mainframe Operations experience

IT Operations / Production Support background

SQL Server administration and troubleshooting

Experience supporting business-critical production systems
