This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who enjoys working within a smaller, community-focused school where staff know their pupils well, relationships matter and every member of the team plays an important role.

The school is looking for someone who can take ownership of a Year 5 class, deliver engaging lessons and maintain high expectations while creating a positive, inclusive learning environment.

The Role

As the Year 5 Class Teacher, you will:

• Take full responsibility for teaching and learning within Year 5
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the KS2 curriculum
• Deliver strong, well-structured English and Maths teaching
• Differentiate effectively for pupils of varying abilities
• Provide appropriate challenge for higher-attaining pupils
• Support children working below age-related expectations
• Adapt teaching for pupils with SEN and additional learning needs
• Establish clear routines and positive behaviour expectations
• Assess pupil progress and identify areas requiring additional support
• Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and the wider school team
• Build positive relationships with parents and carers
• Prepare pupils for the increasing academic expectations of Year 6

About You

QTS is essential for this position.

The school is looking for a teacher who:

• Has experience teaching within a UK primary school
• Has a strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum
• Is confident delivering high-quality English and Maths lessons
• Demonstrates effective classroom and behaviour management
• Can adapt teaching to meet a range of learning needs
• Has high expectations for pupil achievement and behaviour
• Is organised, proactive and reflective in their practice
• Values strong relationships with pupils, families and colleagues
• Is comfortable working within a smaller, close-knit school environment

Previous Year 5 or Upper KS2 experience would be particularly valuable, although strong teachers from other primary year groups are also encouraged to apply.
