English Teacher (Maternity Cover)

Veritas Education are working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in Dewsbury to recruit a committed and passionate English Teacher to cover a period of maternity leave from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated practitioner to join a supportive department and make a meaningful impact on pupils' progress in English. The Role Full teaching responsibility across Key Stages 3 and 4 Planning, delivering, and assessing engaging lessons aligned with the national curriculum Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports learning and behaviour standards Contributing to departmental planning and wider school life where appropriate The School A welcoming and inclusive secondary school serving the Dewsbury community Strong leadership with a focus on staff development and pupil outcomes Supportive English department with collaborative working practices Easily accessible via local transport links The Ideal Candidate Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent Has experience teaching English within a UK secondary setting Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills Is committed to upholding the Department for Education Teachers' Standards Shares a clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of childrenBoth experienced teachers and strong Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to apply.
