About the role
We are looking for a SEMH Teacher to join a supportive specialist education setting and make a genuine difference to the lives of young people.
This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who understands that every student is different and is committed to creating a safe, nurturing and engaging environment where young people can develop academically, socially and emotionally.
You will work with students who may have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and develop the confidence, resilience and skills they need to succeed.
The Role
As an SEMH Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of students.
- Create a calm, structured and positive learning environment.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students.
- Support students with their social, emotional and behavioural development.
- Use positive behaviour management strategies and restorative approaches.
- Adapt teaching and learning to accommodate different abilities and needs.
- Monitor student progress and provide appropriate feedback.
- Work closely with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, families and external professionals.
