Business Development Manager – Industrial Sacks & Bulk Packaging
Location: UK (Field-Based)
Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 (Negotiable) + Company Car + Uncapped Commission
The Opportunity
Our client is a long-established and highly respected supplier of industrial sacks, bulk bags and packaging solutions, serving customers throughout the UK across sectors including agriculture, food manufacturing, recycling, waste management, construction, chemicals and general industry.
As part of their continued growth strategy, they are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to identify and develop new business opportunities, whilst building long-term partnerships with customers requiring reliable, cost-effective packaging solutions.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven sales professional with experience in industrial packaging, sacks, bags, flexible packaging or related consumable products.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business opportunities across the UK, promoting a comprehensive range of packaging products including:
Woven polypropylene sacks
Paper sacks
FIBC bulk bags (Big Bags)
Printed sacks and bespoke packaging
Sandbags
Recycling bags and containers
Agricultural packaging products
Industrial packaging consumables
You will engage directly with manufacturers, processors, recyclers, merchants and distributors, helping customers identify the most suitable packaging solutions for their operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Generate new business opportunities across manufacturing, food processing, agriculture, recycling, construction and industrial markets.
Develop relationships with procurement managers, operations managers, production managers and business owners.
Manage the complete sales process from lead generation through to quotation, negotiation and account development.
Identify opportunities for bespoke and printed packaging solutions.
Conduct customer visits and product presentations throughout the UK.
Deliver profitable sales growth against agreed targets.
Develop existing accounts and maximise cross-selling opportunities.
Maintain an active sales pipeline and accurate CRM records.
Monitor competitor activity, market trends and emerging opportunities.
Work closely with internal teams to ensure exceptional customer service and project delivery.
Candidate Profile
Essential
Proven track record in Business Development, Area Sales or Technical Sales.
Experience selling industrial products, packaging or consumable solutions.
Strong new business development skills.
Ability to build relationships with decision-makers at all levels.
Excellent negotiation, presentation and communication skills.
Self-motivated and capable of managing a national territory.
Full UK Driving Licence.
